Galileo Resources Advances Exploration Initiatives in Northwest Zambia

Galileo Resources PLC has completed two drill holes in Northwest Zambia, confirming stratigraphy and identifying promising mineralization areas. The company plans further exploration after the rainy season, aiming to uncover significant copper deposits akin to those in the DRC.

Galileo Resources PLC (AIM:GLR) has informed investors about its recent operations in Northwest Zambia, specifically in Licence 28001, where the company has successfully completed two drill holes totaling 706.4 meters. This drilling has confirmed the stratigraphy of the wider license area, enhancing understanding of the geological landscape.

Additionally, geological mapping, coupled with the analysis of historical geophysical data and stream sediment sampling, has allowed for the identification of the most promising areas for mineralization within the licence. These findings are crucial for guiding future exploration efforts.

The company anticipates that this work will facilitate the pinpointing of potential “Kamoa-Kakula-type” copper mineralization, a significant prospect for the region. Planning for the next exploration phase is currently underway, scheduled to initiate once the rainy season concludes.

Chief Executive Colin Bird emphasized the importance of validating the Licence’s location within the Western Foreland domain, stating that successful exploration could yield substantial benefits. He noted the proximity of the Western Foreland in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), which is home to the world’s second richest copper mines. Bird expressed optimism about narrowing their search to the most promising areas of the Licence as they prepare for the upcoming exploration campaign.

Galileo Resources is progressing in its exploration efforts in Northwest Zambia, with successful drilling confirming geological structures and identifying promising mineralization areas. The company is poised to initiate further exploration after the rainy season, potentially uncovering lucrative copper deposits similar to those found in the DRC. The strategic focus on the most prospective regions within the License reflects a dynamic approach to resource development.
