Furthermore, the addition of Monika, the team’s strength and conditioning coach, is expected to improve physical performance, thereby addressing prior fitness issues mentioned by Katwal.
Historically, Nepal will be facing familiar opponents, Uganda and Hong Kong, but Namibia will present a new challenge. Nepal previously competed against Uganda in 2022, losing the initial matches of a five-game series but managing to win the last two. Uganda has since improved, performing admirably in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers and other tournaments.
Nepal also shares a competitive history with Hong Kong, winning four out of seven encounters since 2019. Coach Katwal highlighted the strength of the current team, which balances experienced players with emerging talents, and remains confident without underestimating their opponents.
