In a recent meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Qatari Cabinet expressed hope that the outcomes from the Extraordinary Arab Summit would bolster the Arab position against displacing Palestinian citizens and further support efforts to resolve the Gaza conflict. The Cabinet commended the Summit’s potential to enhance initiatives aimed at achieving peace and restoring Palestinian rights, including the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Additionally, the Cabinet applauded the Ministry of Justice’s Strategy (2025-2030) aimed at advancing the legal sector through improved judicial services and partnerships within the legal community. This strategic framework, part of the Third National Development Strategy, aims to foster economic development and build skilled competencies in the judiciary.
Further, the Cabinet endorsed the first National Archives of Qatar Strategy (2025-2030), which seeks to enhance Qatar’s documentation system and preserve its historical legacy through digitization and community engagement. This strategy aims to transform historical archives into resources that contribute to future development.
The Cabinet also reviewed and approved a draft law concerning lost property and unclaimed money, which aims to safeguard rights and promote the return of found items to their rightful owners. In addition, a draft resolution was approved to establish preventive measures for protecting public utilities, regulating work sites’ safety in relation to electrical and water facilities.
Further agreements were discussed, including a partnership arrangement with Sierra Leone for regulating the employment of Sierra Leonean nationals in Qatar and a memorandum of understanding focused on combating economic crimes with Uzbekistan’s authorities. The Cabinet concluded its session by reviewing several reports related to international participation by Qatari officials in various conferences.
