SiCarrier’s Strategic Roadmap: Towards ASML-Compatible Lithography by 2026

SiCarrier revealed a roadmap for ASML-compatible lithography machines by 2026, targeting 300-mm wafers on 28nm processes. The company has partnerships with major fabs, plans for international expansion, and aims to announce commercial orders by late 2025. Founded in 2022, SiCarrier is gaining attention for its innovative tools and strong leadership.

SiCarrier has unveiled an ambitious product roadmap during SEMICON China, setting its sights on developing lithography machines for 300-mm wafers at 28nm processes. The company anticipates releasing an upgraded lithography version compatible with ASML and Applied Materials by 2026. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the compatibility of its equipment with existing domestic fabs, led by Zhao Min, SiCarrier’s Market Director.

According to Chief Technology Officer Chen Dong, SiCarrier has entered into partnerships with various fabs to establish joint laboratories, with plans to announce its initial commercial orders by the fourth quarter of 2025. The client roster includes major Chinese foundries such as SMIC and Hua Hong Group, with the company’s etching equipment already in production for power semiconductor applications.

SiCarrier, founded in 2022, has plans for significant expansion, intending to grow its research and development centers across more than 10 cities over the next three years. Additionally, the company will establish service centers in Europe and Southeast Asia. SiCarrier’s technological leadership is bolstered by technology chief Dai Jun, who holds roles in China’s Big Fund II and as a board member of SMIC.

In 2023, SiCarrier drew attention for securing a patent related to the production of 5nm chips using DUV tools, a pivotal innovation linked to Huawei’s Mate 60 Pro. At SEMICON China, SiCarrier showcased a diverse selection of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including metrology and inspection systems, although its lithography tools were not publicly displayed. Despite this, the company has sophisticated lithography machines capable of processing 300-mm wafers at 28nm and older nodes, affirming its position alongside established competitors.

SiCarrier is making substantial strides in the semiconductor equipment industry with plans to launch ASML-compatible lithography machines by 2026. Their strategic partnerships and expansive R&D initiatives signify a commitment to advancing domestic fabrication technologies. As they prepare for commercial orders and expand internationally, SiCarrier is poised to establish itself as a formidable player in the sector, aided by their prestigious leadership and innovative breakthroughs.
