During a recent meeting at the 8th Indian Ocean Conference in Muscat, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi lauded Yemen’s unwavering support for Palestine, highlighting its crucial role in resisting Israeli aggression. He emphasized that Yemen’s solidarity is vital in countering the ongoing violence against Palestinians, notably in Gaza, and credited their efforts for pressuring Israel into accepting a ceasefire.

Araghchi firmly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent suggestion that Palestinians should settle in Saudi Arabia instead of their homeland, denouncing it as a violation of international law. He reiterated Iran’s strong opposition to the displacement of Palestinians, which has been a consistent policy of Israel.

Yemen’s chief negotiator, Mohammed Abdul-Salam, asserted Yemen’s commitment to defending Palestinian rights, stating that any further aggression would dictate their responses. He highlighted Yemen’s vigilance against attempts to displace Gazans and affirmed that the Resistance movement would not overlook violations of Palestinian sovereignty.

In a parallel diplomatic engagement, Araghchi met with Jasem Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, urging a united Muslim front in support of Palestinian rights. He commended the opposition from Arab states against the US-Israeli proposal to forcibly relocate Gaza residents, labeling it a strategy to dismantle Palestinian identity.

Moreover, Araghchi engaged with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to discuss enhancing Iran-India bilateral relations. They highlighted successful economic cooperation projects, such as the development of the Chabahar Port, emphasizing its potential as a regional trade hub.

Continuing his diplomatic engagements, Araghchi expressed appreciation for Oman’s role in promoting regional stability during discussions with Omani Foreign Minister Seyed Badr Albusaidi. They reaffirmed commitments to enhance maritime and energy partnerships between Iran and Oman.

In discussions with Nepalese Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, Araghchi focused on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties, recognizing Nepal’s assistance in evacuating its citizens from Gaza conflict zones and discussing future humanitarian collaborations. Their dialogue also centered on celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
