The UAE and Sweden have signed a political consultations agreement to bolster cooperation in economy, trade, education, and culture. The signing took place during a meeting between Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Maria Malmer Stenergard, with additional discussions held with Swedish officials on investment opportunities.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Sweden have formalized an agreement for political consultations, aimed at strengthening collaboration across multiple sectors such as economy, trade, education, and culture. This agreement was signed in Stockholm during a meeting between His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his Swedish counterpart, Maria Malmer Stenergard, on the occasion of Sheikh Abdullah’s working visit to Sweden.
Additionally, Sheikh Abdullah met with Swedish Minister of Defence, Pål Jonson, as part of his diplomatic engagements. Further strengthening the relationship, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah and Benjamin Dousa, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, which focuses on expanding investment and business opportunities between the two nations.
The agreement between the UAE and Sweden marks a significant advancement in diplomatic ties, emphasizing a commitment to collaborate on fundamental areas of mutual interest. The engagements during Sheikh Abdullah’s visit highlight a proactive approach to fostering international partnerships, particularly in trade and investment.
