On April 26, Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Battsetseg Batmunkh, met with Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, to discuss a range of bilateral issues. This meeting celebrated the remarkable milestone of 75 years of relations between the two nations, focusing on enhancing cooperation in social and economic sectors.
During their discussions, the ministers emphasized the importance of economic collaboration and pledged to boost bilateral trade. A significant point of agreement was to ensure the execution of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Air Relations, which was signed in 2024 and aims to establish direct flights connecting the capitals of Mongolia and Hungary.
Foreign Minister Batmunkh introduced several of Mongolia’s long-term development initiatives, such as the Food Supply and Security program and the One Billion Trees initiative. He noted that these projects present numerous opportunities for Hungary to engage meaningfully, benefiting both nations.
